Jammu agitation for the land for amarnath shrine board and against kashmir and muslims in the Jammu region could be a blessing in disguise. Kashmir Intifada was for honor. Even during those tough days hindus were and still are being treated well in Kashmir. Jammu agitation is war against muslims. While the hindu fanatics of Jammu have yet again showed how ruthless they are by hurting muslims of Jammu and the valley as a whole through economic blockade, they have brought home the point to us, kashmiris, how dependent we are. I have always supported the idea of Jammu being a separate state. I believe they don't belong to us and we don't belong to them, so all these leaders who always consider J&K as one unit are mistaken in my opinion.
We should concentrate on ways and means to make Kashmir self reliant and live a life of honor. Calling for strikes is not the solution but working harder is, fast unto death is not a remedy but working harder to produce more to feed ourselves and others is. We need to learn to respect ourselves and always strive to be the ones giving than the ones receiving.

Nayeem,
I feel sorry from my side the situation happening in the Kashmir. Game played by politics cost we people and we become aggressive against the community; Muslim says f**k Hindu and Hindu says f**k Muslim.
Reality is we are loosing from both ways.
We people should be against the political people not with the people on the basis of community.
Hoping that you will be agreed with me.
Khuda Hafis (sorry if I spell wrong) and Namastte!!
I've been to Kashmir once, and that is just junat we are destroying it :(
Bro Nayeem..
you are absolutely correct.
The "economical blockade" is an eye opener for each Kashmiri, how dependent he is on Jammu and other parts of India.
Its high time, that each one of us started doing some ground work to make Kashmir independent economically.
Leaders have a greater role to play in imparting positive energy in people and initiate the process towards complete economic development.
The other day I read in GK that there are a lot of items which Kashmir provides as raw material, and then finished goods are prepared in Jammu and sent back to Kashmiris.
Businessmen, employees, engineers and doctors and all other people
from all walks of life need to do their bit.
It can be started with some small scale industries, like candle making machines or match stick producing machines, pickle production, fruit products, bakery, poultry etc
There are hundreds of such small scale industries which could be started with minimum capital, space and man power.
Every other house in China is a production unit, why cant we have similar in Kashmir.
We should come up with one practical example and motivate others to follow.

Dear, I was also born in Srinagar, and what I have seen from the beginning Kashmiri's always considered themselves out of India. This was due to political aspirations of few early leaders and as usual the common man was fooled by them. We have to realize right from the beginning its a part of India, even when Muslims were not here. Hindus never agitated or fought that muslims shld settle in Kashmir and if you go by history mostly there are only converts who are in kashmir so pls. don't say Jammu people don't belong to you or you are somewhat different. I will point out your last line, Learn to respect others not yourselves, when you do that, there won't be any crisis.
KS,
The agitation about land was never about Jammu but Jammu instead started choking us. They have always tried to play this card of regional discrimination. If they want more representation in the parliament give it to them, who cares about such representatives anyway. But stop blaming us for all the ills of Jammu. If you want to talk about economic progress just travel to Kashmir and analyze for yourself how it stands against Jammu. You will notice the false cries of Jammuites.
As far as whether we are different , there is no question about it. We are different just like everyone else is in their own way. Jammu and Kashmir did not become one naturally but because of the Dogra dynasty, so don't try to make it holier than this union is.
Jummuites are the ones who are always whining, so I was trying to give them what they want. They want more representation, give it to them,. They want to form a separate state, be my guest. One important thing, don't blame Kashmir for anything wrong. Grow up Jammu and stop whining.
As far as union of Kashmir with India is considered, I have to differ with you. Kashmiris(atleast muslims) never considered themselves as Indians. I have never seen any Kashmiri muslim waving the Indian flag with pride. Kashmir was made to be a part of India through trickery and false promises. It is not too old. Just go back 61 years and look at all these years.
As far as respect is considered we have been respecting other faiths all these years and will continue to do so in future as well, InshaALLAH. As far as my last line goes, it is because we have become too dependent on everyone else and are a society of consumers and I find it disrespectful to ourselves. So we need to rise up and become self reliant so that no right wing fanatic can ever think that they can choke us, not that they can now, because ALLAH never leaves anyone in despair.
Hey Codebased,
You are right we should not be against any community. If you look at the whole situation we are not against any community. People of Kashmir rose against the land deal because of political reasons. Jammuites made it anti kashmir.
